Jackson Haselhorst
I'm a musician and songwriter from Papillion, Nebraska. My journey as an artist is noticeably different from many other instructors, who have spent years or even decades rigorously studying, practicing, and performing piano in academic and professional settings. For most of my life, music has been second (to the relief of my parents) to a more practical education - I graduated in May of 2023 from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a degree in Mathematics. This has given me the unique story of the joys and opportunities that come from simply pursuing music as a passion.
My first musical desire was to learn guitar when I was 7, but my mom insisted that I learn piano first to have a better grasp of music theory... and I still have yet to learn guitar! Those first piano lessons have led to 15 years of spending time in nearly every possible avenue that piano playing can take someone. I have played recitals, competed in jazz bands, played and led worship in numerous settings, and recently begun playing live shows and producing my own songs. Over the years, I have experienced every emotion that music can provoke - from the frustrations of practicing as a beginner to the joy that comes with performing original songs with good friends.
These experiences are what brought me into teaching. My story is a testament to the opportunities and joys music can bring even when pursued "just" as a hobby, and I would love to use my experience to help you on your journey as a musician! Whether you are an absolute beginner just wanting to learn the basics, or you've been playing for years and want to expand your abilities, I would love to be the person to walk your first or next steps with you!
