I have had an interest in art ever since I could hold a pencil.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with an emphasis in painting. At the university, I began to critically examine my interest in fiction and started to explore the idea of visual storytelling.
I wanted to make work that was quirky and playful, so I began a series of paintings, inspired by real people acting out fantasies. This work set the foundation for my artistic goals of bridging fantasy and reality in painting.
After college, I set up my own studio in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was there that I decided to host figure drawing sessions for the local community. I loved the experience of helping others understand anatomy from the perspective of the artist, and getting them excited about drawing.
Since then, I have been doing freelance work and gallery shows. My primary mediums are oil paint, watercolor, and digital painting.
I am excited to be a part of the 402 Arts Collective and teach in the Lesson Studio program because this is a place that matches my values. If you want to explore drawing or painting, I’d love to come alongside you and help you learn.
