ARTISTS OF NATURE | KIDS SUMMER CAMP
DESCRIPTION:
Immerse yourself in nature-inspired creativity at our Artists of Nature summer camp, tailored for 8-13-year-old artists.
Led by experienced instructor Mercedes Dickens, participants will explore watercolor, acrylic painting, sculpture, and drawing techniques.
The camp fosters experimentation, skill development, and artistic expression, promoting confidence and collaboration.
Join us for a vibrant experience where every stroke tells a unique story, fostering a lifelong love for the arts in a supportive environment.
COST: $150.00 (per camp week, $300 for both)
WHEN:
CAMP “A” — JUNE 3-6, MONDAY-THURSDAY, 9:00 AM-12:30 PM
CAMP “B” — JUNE 17-20, MONDAY-THURSDAY, 9:00 AM-12:30 PM
AGES: 8-13
ADDITIONAL CLASS DETAILS: Participants are encouraged to wear paint-appropriate and “explorer” appropriate clothing. All art supplies and snacks will be provided.

Artist Instructor Information:
Art has always been something that I am very passionate about! It’s a beautiful way to bring the world and emotions to life.
Entering college, I chose to pursue an art education degree so that I could teach art to others and help them grow their abilities. I soon realized that I wanted to teach art on my own terms, and really focus on helping people learn whichever specific form of art that they are passionate about. I went on to graduate from Midland University with a degree in Fine Arts, with a concentration in painting.
Since graduating, I have mainly worked on my paintings in my home. However, my most recent job at Valiant Studios has given me the opportunity to teach and make art with amazing and creative individuals! And now, as I teach visual arts here at The 402, I am excited to help others create works of art that allow them to be brave and experimental in a fun and inspiring environment.
