TUITION & ENROLLMENT
INFORMATION

Our lesson studio program operates perhaps differently than some other Lesson Studios in that our students pay tuition on a subscription model. We offer two primary “subscription” packages for any students wanting to receive private lessons from any of our qualified Artist Instructors. Once the student is subscribed to a preferred subscription package, they are given the chance to choose a time slot (30 or 60 min based upon their subscription) with the Artist Instructor of their choosing every week as long as they are subscribed. Our goal is to make learning an art form or instrument a positive and life-impacting experience. We also realize the business of life is hard to navigate. This is why we are committed to working with you to make weekly lessons work with your schedule when at all possible. We invite all new students to review all the important information on this page, read our FAQ section below, as well as review our 402 Lesson Studio Policy and Procedures document prior to enrolling.

PRIVATE LESSONS

The Express package includes one thirty (30) minute 1:1 lesson per week with the student and their preferred Artist Instructor. Lessons take place in one of our studio locations or virtually online. This package option is oftentimes the best option if students are just getting started. We guarantee the experience will be worth it.

The Standard package is the most popular package we offer. This package includes one sixty (60) minute 1:1 lesson per week with the student and their preferred Artist Instructor. Lessons take place in one of our studio locations or virtually online. This package is wonderful if you are really wanting to grow in your art form.

$30 ONE TIME registration fee added to all new students, one per active family

An electronic payment method is required for enrollment. A 2.5% convenience fee is charged for using debit or credit cards. NO CHARGE for using ACH.

 FAQs

  • The short answer is, “yes and no”. Some studios that offer private lessons have chosen to offer their students the chance to schedule a make up lessons if they need to cancel their scheduled lesson that was on the schedule. This is NOT something we offer in the 402 Lesson Studio. Per our policy, a make up lesson is only offered if A) the Artist Instructor is unable to teach the scheduled lesson or B) the Artist Instructor wishes to offer a makeup lesson to the student as a good will gesture. The Lesson Studio is not , however, obligated to offer a make up lesson if the scheduled lesson is unable to be attended by the student. We do this for the following reasons:

    1. Our studio is growing - and has expanded beyond being able to accommodate the needed flexibility and studio space for scheduling short notice makeup lessons.

    2. We value our Artist Instructor’s time - it is our commitment to serve our Artist Instructors in a manner that allows them to steward their time well and be successful in their practitioning. When a student pays for their tuition, they are not only paying for lessons, but also the time and space. They are committing, along with the Artist Instructor to both arrive at a designated place and time every week. As soon as the tuition is paid, the place (studio), and time (30 or 60min) is “owned” by the paying student and is un-moveable until other arrangements are made with the 7 days notice.

  • This is a question that will inevitably come up no matter what. All of our lives are busy and we understand that things come up and are just not able to foreseen and planned for. That being said, we require that all schedule changes are made prior to the 1st of each month. This means that if you are unable to provide notice of your upcoming absence after the month has started you will be charged for that lesson as if it was attended.

  • We prorate all enrollments so that you are only charged for the subsequent lessons it takes to get to the first of the month. After which begins your regular subscription charges

  • Per our policy, we require a 30-day cancelation notice. To initiate cancelling your lessons subscription plan, all you need to do is inform your Artist Instructor, or send the office an email. We will halt all further charges after the required 30-period. Automatic charges will not longer happen. We encourage students to finish out their lessons during the 30-day period after cancelling notice is given, however it is not required.

  • We suggest two things:
    1. First, try our “Artist Instructor Finder Filter” - This can be found HERE. You may also notice that on every Artist Instructor’s profile page is listed the studio location(s) they teach at.

    2. Contact our Program Director and we will do our very best to tell you exactly who would be the best fit per your needs.

  • The short answer is “yes”. We have developed this model and system in such a way that keeps overhead costs down so that we are able to do more for the Artist Instructor Members which in turn benefits your student. One of those things, is an automatic billing system. Once on our automatic payment plan (Subscription) you are charged on the 1st of every month. Please note, however, we also understand that there are some who have chosen not to have electronic payment methods. In these rare cases, we invite you contact our office and discuss a solution.

  • The 402 Lesson Studio is a program of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called 402 Arts Collective. It’s mission is to provide avenues for artists to impact lives through the arts. Please click here for more information and learn about ways to support: https://402artscollective.org/

  • The answer is simple, nothing changes. Essentially, when you sign up and pay the standard monthly subscription, this entitles you to one lesson with your Artist Instructor per week. You are charged the same price if there are four weeks in a month or if there are five weeks in a month. Consider these instances to be “free lessons” to the student. Keep in mind, however, that there are no refunds or credits given for missed or canceled lessons on the fifth week per our studio policy.
