SOFIA CORMACK
My name is Sofia, and I am a flutist from Omaha. In December 2021, I earned a Bachelor of Music in Flute from the University of Nebraska at Omaha under the pedagogical instruction of Dr. Christine Erlander Beard. I plan to continue my musical studies by pursuing a Master of Music in Flute Performance degree at UNO, beginning in August 2022.
With music, I have had wonderful opportunities to play solo literature, ranging from Bach to Ian Clarke. I have also enjoyed performing in multi-instrumental duos, trios, and quartets, as well as in small and large chamber groups and ensembles. I love all things flute! It is a beautiful instrument full of a variety of expressions and emotions, and I am passionate about helping each student find their voice through the flute as they gain confidence while growing in technique and musicality. History, literature, technique, and tone - I believe that these are all valuable and necessary musical elements for teaching the flute. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
