AMY WEBSTER

I’ve been a practicing artist and art teacher in the Omaha area for over three decades. I received my BFA in Studio Art and K–12 Visual Arts Teaching Certification from the University of Nebraska, and I’ve devoted my entire professional life to sharing the joy of the fine arts with my community.

In 1990, I co-founded Rhythm & HUES: A Studio of Fine Arts and spent the next 30 years teaching art and music to students of all ages. I also spent many wonderful years teaching art at St. Stephen the Martyr School, working with students from Pre-K through 8th grade. In addition, I lead painting workshops for seniors in a variety of Independent and Assisted Living communities—a part of my work that I find especially meaningful.

My own artistic practice focuses on traditional techniques and a subtle, expressive style. While I’ve completed many commissioned portraits in oil and pastel, I also love creating landscapes, animal portraits, and still-life drawings and paintings.

I believe the fine arts are a precious gift. When we share them with others, we truly celebrate the beauty of life and nature. I’m excited to continue that celebration with the 402 Arts Collective.
